"The Working Herts team, dressed in blue, came in and checked everything. They removed the motheaten carpet lagging from the pipes, renewed the pipe insulation all round, and put an insulating jacket on the cold water tank. They laid that pink stuff throughout the loft, fibreglass, and took it up tight under the eaves. A really lovely job. Then they tidied up everything and went. Because I am an OAP they left me a present of two low energy bulbs which I have put in the hall and the lounge. That'll save a penny or two on the bills and I won't have to keep changing them in future.
I can feel the benefit now (October)- the water in my radiators gets really hot, I have to switch them off to cool down. However, when the winter sets in I'll be glad of the extra heat and the lower bills..." J Thompson (80), Bushey
